Solace Foundations

The Solace Foundations program is a personalized introduction to your new fitness team and tools. Together we will discuss your health objectives and design a tailored yet realistic path to achieving those goals by leveraging the Coaching, programs and offerings available. After five one-on-one sessions with a Senior Coach you will be confident in your understanding of all Solace has to offer and ready to jump head-first into life changing results. This program is designed to ensure that your transition into membership is both enjoyable and seamless.

Dariel has been fascinated with fitness ever since he was a kid. He first learned about CrossFit while working in a conventional gym and his first CrossFit work out was Fran (21-15-9 thrusters and pull ups). It took him about 12 minutes. All those years he had been working out to “look” fit, but once he began CrossFit, he became actually fit, and the look followed.

Dariel is experienced in working with athletes of all fitness levels with goals that vary from improving strength, increasing cardiovascular output, and losing weight. He also is well versed in working with clients with back, knee, and shoulder pain or who have recently recovered from surgeries on those aforementioned areas.

His passion is in making you better and helping you reach goals you never knew you could attain.

Andrew Mariani

Coach Andrew Mariani hails from central New Jersey. A lifelong athlete in multiple sports, he chose to play lacrosse in college, where he enjoyed success at the national level making it to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Tournament twice and finishing in the top ten 3 times. Andrew has been coaching since college, where he worked with his lacrosse team’s strength and conditioning coach on training programs. Using his experience as a collegiate athlete, Andrew worked with local teams after graduation. For each of the last three seasons, he has worked with the Stevens Institute of Technology’s wrestling team. Further relevant experience consists of:  HIIT Coach at Intrepid Gym in Hoboken, Crossfit Coach at Hudson River Crossfit in Hoboken, and trainer at Focus Integrated Training in NYC.

Brandon has been coaching since 2014, when he helped open DownState CrossFit in Westchester. A former Division III college basketball player, Brandon loves being surrounded by competitive and supportive athletes, and finds a natural home in CrossFit to push himself to train with excellence.

Carla Miranda

Get ready for an hour of energy!  Carla is a native Puerto Rican and a lifelong athlete. From track and field, to dancing to competitive cheerleading.

She started CrossFit in Miami about 5 years ago and was so passionate about it that she decided to be a coach. While she manages her hotelier job and coaching, you might catch Carla doing a WOD with you too. Through CrossFit, Carla found her passion for weightlifting. “I see weightlifting as ballet, it takes time. Focus on the technique. You will have good and bad days just keep working”.

Carla is a strong believer of strong is the new beautiful and will motivate women to be fearless when it comes to lifting weights. “Let break the stereotypes!”.

Heidi’s coaching philosophy is all about that positive push.

She believes that the path to our best version is to flip that sneaky mental narrative when the workouts go dark and stormy.

‘There is always one more rep that is possible,’ and Heidi believes that when you subscribe to that, all of our self-imposed limitations literally get annihilated.

Heidi is no stranger to that deep mental push.  She has been a runner since she was 9 years old, running competitively through a Division 1 college to completing more than 20 marathons, including multiple trips to the Boston marathon and ultimately into ultra marathoning.

She has been CrossFitting since 2012 and loves how the sport, to her, mimics the intensity of her college workouts.  Her personal mantra is ‘what would you do if you knew you wouldn’t fail?’

Nick loves interacting with people. Whether he’s teaching a beginner on how to do a proper bodyweight squat, or working with his clients in buying and selling real estate as a residential broker in NYC, human interaction is his passion. Growing up with a father who was a three-sport prep school coach in Connecticut, Nick’s love of sports was carved out at an early age. Later on, Nick always quickly became bored of his workouts (he’s a Sagittarius; they always need a challenge), until he found CrossFit in 2011, and has never looked back.

Jim was introduced to CrossFit at a young age through his relationship with the renowned Navy Seal Michael Murphy, aka “Murph.” He grew up playing travel ice hockey, baseball, basketball, and lacrosse, and has also received a black belt in taekwondo. Before jumping headlong into the CrossFit world, Jim worked at a boutique investment bank on a High Yield trading desk. Jim loves CrossFit with a bleeding passion, and has been coaching since 2012.
