We are excited to announce our October Member of the Month: Migdalia Cartagena!

Since joining Solace for the Summer Ready Challenge in April, Migdalia has lost 20 lbs, completed the Strength Intensive, Strong Cycle, (working on the Weightlifting Cycle now) has more energy during her day, and improved her body weight and weightlifting skills! What’s your favorite movement?

I can’t do them yet, Kipping Pull Ups. Getting better at the Clean & Jerk.

Why did you pick Solace and what keeps you coming back?

I was looking for a challenging workout and Solace had an ad on Facebook for the Summer Ready Challenge. I was debating whether I should join or not for several weeks. I was thinking about what I should do. My phone fell to the ground and the Solace ad appeared on the screen!! Fate!! From the first call till now, the staff and members have been so welcoming and supportive. I feel like part of a family!!

What were your fitness goals when you joined in August 2018 and how have they evolved?

I actually joined in April 2019. When I signed up for the the Summer Ready Challenge. I was at an impasse from my previous workouts. I was bored and didn’t see/feel any changes.  I wanted to get stronger, lose weight, increase endurance and just overall wellness!!

What’s your advice for new members?

Keep going it is well worth it!! Don’t be afraid to ask for help!!

One fun fact about yourself that you want the Solace community to know:

I am probably the oldest person attending classes!! Hee!! Hee!! Everyone pushes me to excel and I cherish it!! I have always been a fighter, have had to overcome a lot. A good attitude and sense of humor even when you think you can’t and the help of others you can get pretty far in any journey! There are good people in this world!! Pass it forward!!
